Wow. I am officially Deviant Art-ly incompetent. Somehow I failed to notice the link to your "Gallery". So when I took deviations out of the featured section and they "disappeared" I freaked out and decided that I needed to re-upload them and delete the old versions... What can I say, what can I say. Maybe it's the Jet Lag.

Oh yeah! Speaking of Jet Lag! Peru was just pure PWNsomness. We spent time hiking through the sacred valley of the Incas, then we hiked into Machu Picchu, (Just a day hike, not the real deal, 9 miles instead of 30 sumthin). You know the gigantic mountain behind Machu Picchu in all of the pictures? I had a chance to climb to the top, and though it was extremely steep it was the most 'worth it' hike I've ever been on.

After that we headed off to lake Titicaca (which has nothing to do with the Spanish translation of caca, it actually means 'sacred cat on a rock' or there about). Lake Titicaca is possibly the most beautiful lake that I've ever seen, if only for the colors. We visited the Uros Islands, which are floating islands made out of reeds. People have lived that was for centuries, hunting and fishing. Some Uros people still live in their traditional way, without any tourist/western influence. Other islands have opened up their doors and are like floating museum gift shops. Still very very cool.

Last but by far not least we spent 5 days in the Manu Rain forest. We got to see the extremely endangered Giant otter (4!) and the immensely shy Tapir, not to mention 105 tropical bird species.

But now I'm back, until next Wednesday! I'll be off to camp for another two weeks!
